I have had a life long passion for technology, but ultimately it is the people who make technology into something more than hardware or software.
To create something which is both practical as well as aesthetically pleasing is a challenge. To make something which gives people pleasure or satisfies a deep need, particularly in a working environment,
requires not just an understanding of the technology, but also of the psychology of the users.
In addition to the end customer, it is vital that good relationships are established with clients. I pride myself on my cool reserved demeanour whilst sticking to my guns to provide persuasive agruments.
Joining the Royal Navy in 1989, I qualified as a engineer and swiftly rose through the ranks to run the weapon section of a nuclear submarine within 8 years. During this time I gained experience in project management and planning.
After 12 years I joined BAE Systems Avionics as a project planner, and soon became the project office manager responsible for 16 people in my department.
I then studied Risk Management with the Institute of Risk Management, and became the company risk manager, where I developed deep knowledge and a passion for the subject.
Working for Selex Galileo I was then asked to project manage a couple of multi million pound, high risk research & development projects.
In 2008 I was invited to head the Internal Audit function in the UK, which I managed for seven years, gaining deep experience of the Internal Audit profession, and exposing me to the C-Suite for the first time.
In 2015 I was invited to take on the role of Vice President for Risk Management in the Airborne and Space Systems Division of Leonardo. In that time I created a powerful risk management software tool, and delivered training to over 600 people.
In 2018 I decided that it was time to strike out on my own, and so set up Emsity Limited. Within days I had signed a number of clients, and have been busy ever since. My work has taken me across Europe and Scandinavia, and I have worked on-line with prospects from India, Hong Kong, China, Canada and the USA. I have been invited to speak at numerous events, and have had several articles published internationally.
In 2019 I have undertaken studies in Life Coaching, and have started to support a number of people who are looking to achieve their life goals.

Mark and I worked together to initiate, develop and implement an Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Mark demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the subject, and was meticulous in his attention to detail whilst remaining focused on the overall objective. I have no reservation about recommending Mark for anyone wanting to deploy an ERM solution within their organisation.
I was very fortunate to meet Mark at a time when my life needed some focus. His coaching skills helped me achieve things that were on my work and personal lists to do but never got around to doing!
His approach was professional but friendly, in a way that put me at ease in discussing some areas of my life. In a short space of time, I have benefited from our sessions and would recommend Mark to anyone wanting to succeed in a better work life balance.
